Double Chocolate Brownies
4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
2/3 C shortening
2 C sugar
1 t vanilla
4 eggs
1-1/4 C Gold Medal all purpose flour
1 t baking powder
1 t salt
1 C M&M's plain chocolate candies
Heat oven to
350 degrees. Grease rectangular pan, 13x9x2 inches. Heat unsweetened chocolate
and shortening in 3 quart saucepan over low heat until melted. Remove from heat;
mix in sugar, vanilla and eggs. Stir in remaining ingredients except candies.
Spread in pan. Sprinkle with candies; press lightly. Bake until brownies begin
to pull away from sides of pan, about 30 minutes. Do not over bake. Cool
completely; cut into bars.
