Dutch Chops
6 pork chops
1 T shortening
1/2 C flour
1/2 t salt
1/4 t pepper
1/2 C water
2 T vinegar
1-1/2 t sugar
1 small bay leaf
1 C sour cream
Combine flour,
salt and pepper and coat chops well with mixture. Melt shortening in skillet
over medium heat and brown chops on both sides. Remove from skillet and arrange
in a greased baking dish. Combine water, vinegar, sugar and bay leaf and pour
over chops. Cover and bake for one hour in a moderate oven (350 degrees). Remove
from oven and top with sour cream. Return to oven for about 15 minutes. Serve on
curried rice. Recipe serves 6. - Mam-Ma says "Good"!
