Pretzel Surprise
2 C coarsely crushed pretzel sticks
3/4 C butter or margarine
3 T sugar
8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 C sugar
8 oz. carton frozen whipped topping, thawed
6 oz. pkg. strawberry-flavored gelatin
2 C boiling water
2 10-oz. packages frozen strawberries
Heat oven to
400. In medium bowl combine pretzels, butter and 3 T sugar; press on bottom of
9x13x2 inch pan. Bake 8 minutes. Cool. In small mixing bowl, beat cream cheese
until fluffy. Gradually add 1 C sugar, beating until smooth. Fold in whipped
topping. Spread on cooled crust. In medium bowl, dissolve gelatin in boiling
water. Stir in strawberries; break up as they thaw. Refrigerate until slightly
thickened. Pour over cream cheese mixture in pan. Refrigerate until firm. Very,
